S. C. Gould, in his resume of Arcane Fraternities in the United States, 1896, says that the society was established at Boston, March 15, 1845, and ”their pledge is based on the command of Jonadab, the son of Rechab, to his posterity.” Their motto was, “Mercy and Truth are met together.” This was a branch of the Sous of Jonadab. Both were total abstinence societies, and both are dead.
